EOL launches Seerat Quiz
EslahOnline.net (EOL) is launching Seerat Quiz for free participation of the online community of Afghans.
Seerat means in Arabic study of life of prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The Seerat Quiz aims at promoting understanding of the online Afghan youth about life of the great leader of humanity.
The Seerat Quiz is to be undertaken in late February coinciding with birthday of the prophet i.e 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal.
EOL is Afghanistan's fast-flourishing portal in two main languages of Afghanistan. It has been operating since September last year and has got a quick popularity in the short time.
The effort to encourage Afghan internet-users come as the vast majority of media outlets try to alienate the youth in Afghanistan from their religious and cultural values and identity.
Dr Hedayatullah Hamidi, in charge of the Youth For the Future section of EOL, said the quiz will give an opportunity to the youth who love studying Islam and the prophet to demonstrate thier abilities.
“This will be the first ever online quiz aiming to promote knowlede of the Afghan youth in Afghanistan,” said Hamidi.
The quiz will be going for over three weeks with questions being posted online everyday during the working days.
Funding has been provided by three Afghans with an intention to promote the urge of knowledge among the youth.
According to the Ministry of Communication sources, more than half a million Afghans are using internet in Afghanistan while there are no figures about Afghans in exile.
EOL tries to reach to as many Afghans as possible.
EOL has considered 35 prizes for the winners, ranging from $500 to $50.
